My name is Deb Broughton and I was born and raised in the United Kingdom and have lived in Australia for over twenty years years. I studied at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP) qualifying with a degree in counselling. I am a registered clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
I work primarily from a humanistic perspective, as a counsellor in the modalities of Person Centred and Solution Focused counselling. I have extensive counselling and case management experience working within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community for the past eighteen years. In conjunction with counselling I also coordinate a team of volunteer counsellors within a leading HIV Community Health organisation.
Individual sessions are one hour in length and charged at $120 per session. A negotiated rate can be reached for those financially disadvantaged where available. Medicare does not currently offer rebates for counselling and psychotherapy.
