My name is Chantal Burchett and I am a Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist. 

In addition to my work at Therapy Space, I also provide counselling services at a large NGO specialising in gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) health.

I have lived in various parts of the world although I am originally from Sydney, which is where I completed my formal training to become a therapist at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. I am committed to continuing my professional development and have undertaken specialised training in Clinical Supervision, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Family and Relationship Counselling, Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselling, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and HIV/Hep C Pre and Post Test Counselling.

I am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA 9977) and I am also a registered Medibank Private Provider (1498062W).

I work primarily with individuals and couples in face to face sessions and am available for both short term and longer term therapeutic work with the goal of improving the psychological health and wellbeing of clients.

I am experienced in supporting clients in the therapeutic relationship to explore a wide range of issues, including: 

  • Relationship and intimacy concerns
  • Sexuality and sexual health
  • Cultural and religious issues
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self esteem
  • Grief and loss
  • Addictions
  • Chronic health conditions
  • Violence

Individual sessions are charged at a rate of $110 and couples sessions are $140 per session.
